Commissioned by the Australian Conservation Foundation, Victoria’s Alps argued the case for protecting the Victorian segment of the Australian high country – the ‘Victorian Alps’ – in a contiguous national park linked to the existing Kosciuszko National Park in NSW. The text is accompanied by photographs by the author and other photographers including Clyde O’Donnell, Jutta Hosel, Henry Gold, Geoff Parr, Bruce Rigby and David Tatnall. The volume was part of a decades-long campaign by the conservation movement culminating in the declaration of a 646,000 hectare Alpine National Park by the then state government on June 6, 1989.
